Member Guest 2016 - Logo
About 7 or 8 years ago I decided to paint our club logo, the crossed Peace-pipe and Tomahawk, on the 10th fairway to do something different for our Member Guest event. Since the original effort it has been requested a number of times, and if the weather is right we get it done. The process is tedious and it's all done by hand. This year's episode took me and 2 staff members 3 hours and 41 minutes to complete. It was done the day prior to the 3-day event. Below are a number of picutres and discriptions of the process and the final result.

| First step: scale had to be determined. 1" on paper = 3'on the fairway. |

| String was set up and the ends marked, then checked for proper positioning from the 10th tee. |

| once all the stakes were set, a few indicator lines were made. |

| Outling was the next step. This was all done by my hand, no stencils or pre-fab. Just trust the lay out and proceed. |

| Had to stretch the back regularly, 3 hunched over hours is a long time. |

| Once the outline is completed - time to move on to colors. |

| At this point I was ready for some help and called in my son Nick and Ryan Palmieri to help with the color fills. |

| Red paint seemed to take the longest to grow out after the event, fortunately the temperatures remained cool enough that no turf was lost. |

This logo was nearly 40' x 30' yes...feet, when done.
